My artistic journey is a continuous exploration of self-discovery and growth. My work stems from personal experiences, particularly loss and trauma, which fuel my creative process.
Inspiration strikes from the subconscious, often through automatic drawing and collage techniques. Significant life events, like the loss of close friends in 2012, have shifted my perspective and artistic vision.
My art delves into the realms of mortality, spirituality, and the unknown. Recurring elements of dreams and the afterlife reflect my quest for understanding.
Through my art, I aim to:
- Provide a meditative escape from reality
- Explore the surreal and incandescent
- Inspire self-reflection and personal growth
Influences include Dali, Remedios Varos Mobius, and David Lynch. My techniques span various mediums, from biro markers to aerosol and brush.
My Journey
Growing up in northern Perth, Western Australia, I faced adversity, enduring domestic violence, child abuse, and the loss of close friends to murder and suicide. These experiences took a toll on my mental health, leading to dark years of suicidal thoughts and depression.
However, with the support of loved ones and the therapeutic power of art, I transformed my life. My art is surreal and otherworldly, tapping into the unknown. My signature one-line art style allows me to heal from my past.
A turning point came in 2017, when I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Film. This sparked a new creative path, marked by commissions, including mural installations on Christmas Island in the Pacific Ocean.
The mural series continues, with upcoming installations, reflecting my growth and commitment to artistic expression.
